Top 5 Search Engines in 2013- U.S. Ranking Report in August

The latest Top 5 Search Engines Report comes out, Google tops the search market with 67 percent market share (up 0.3 percentage points) in July 2013, followed by:

- Microsoft with 17.9 percent
- Yahoo! with 11.3 percent
- Ask Network 2.7 percent
- AOL, Inc. with 1.2 percent

Ranking: Top 10 Video Websites and Video Ads Viewed - June 2013 U.S.

In June 2013, Google Sites, driven primarily by YouTube.com, ranked as the top online video content sites with 158.3 million unique viewers. And is ranked #1 site that video was view with 3.3 billion ad impressions, here's the data from ComScore.

IE Browser (IE8, IE9, IE10) Can Not Display Blogger (blogspot) Webpage Properly, X-UA-Compatible Problem?

As a blogger/ webmaster, you have to make sure your blog/ website compatible with all the popular browsers, esp. Chrome, Firefox and IE, or in another word, make sure different browses can display your webpage properly. But the problem is, looks like IE has the most problem with Blogger (blogspot) site, with either extra large spaces, or even can't display your Adsense (with an error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"). How to fix?

Custom Domain Can Not Be Bought Directly From Blogger Site Any More, Support Team Said

        Not an official announcement, but one of Blogger's support tech said on June 20, 2013 on Google forum that Blogger  "no longer offer an option to purchase domains within the product",  which means bloggers can't buy custom domain from Blogger site anymore, which was an option in the past that only cost $10.0 a year. But don't worry, Blogger still support Custom Domain, as long as you buy domian name from other registrar.

Google Reader will be shut down on July 1, 2013

Google announced that Google Reader will be retired by July 1, 2013, which surprised many people.

Why? there are two reasons, Google said: "usage of Google Reader has declined, and as a company we’re pouring all of our energy into fewer products. We think that kind of focus will make for a better user experience."

Adsense Best Practice: 12 tips to optimize for more money

Many people are using Adsense on their websites, and many talk about how many they made, why I can't even make a dollar in one day? Google has an official answer for this question.

Here's the 12 tips from Google:
  1. Increase ad coverage: Placing additional ad units on your site can have a big impact on your earnings. You can put up to three standard AdSense for content ad units (note only one 300x600), three link units and two AdSense for search boxes on each page of your site. Sometimes publishers find it difficult to decide whether an additional ad unit makes sense for their site. Watch this short video to help you make sure you're following best practices, as outlined on Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, when placing new ad units on your site. As always, it’s important to consider the amount of ads in relation to the quality content on your site.
